I found this https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/failover-clustering/upgrade-option-same-hardware
It describes to 'copy cluster' from 2012r2 to windows 2016 and then 2019, there is a lot of host rebuilding for different OS involved.
Can one copy cluster directly from win 2012r2 to win 2019?
I have a production cluster of 5 win 2012r2 I would like to go straight to win 2019. One way would be taking 2 nodes out of the win 2012r2 cluster rebuilding both nodes to win 2019 and creating a new 2019 based cluster and
then migrate Hyper-V machines off possible disconnecting CSV (iSCSI) on the old cluster and reconnecting to new and import the machines? I have the machine spread over 6 CSV
and could go CSV by CSV. 2 of my nodes have the capacity to run my the complete load of the 5 nodes with somewhat reduced capacity, which would be enough over a weekend.
Any advise appreciated how to best get from the existing 5 node win 2012r2 cluster to running win 209 cluster with most reuse of CSV (disconnect-attach) and least down time is appreciated.
